2. Boys Club and Girls Inc. Parking Lot ~ Rainout Site: Boys Club Auxiliary Gym - A story time geared to kids ages 8 and under will take place every Wednesday at Noon.
- Lunches must be eaten on site - no food is to leave the site
- Lunches for adults cannot be purchased at the site
- For students going into grades 1 through 8 who will be participating in the Summer Dive Into Reading Program, pick up a FREE sack lunch and visit the Bookmobile at the lunch site in the parking lot of the Boys Club and Girls Inc. every Wednesday through July.

New at Grover Museum June 9th
Shelby Co. Answers the Call: Military Exhibit featuring Grover Museum artifacts and photos from Shelby County soldiers who served in the Civil War, Korea, Vietnam, WWI, WWII.
Afghanistan: Traditional Crafts and Culture. Shelby County National Guard soldier Tony Isaac has loaned us his collection to exhibit. Includes jewelry, woven silk rugs, silk scarves, a burka and other items.

Tips for Buying in a Tight Market
Today, There are more affordable homes (Did you know Central Indiana is the most affordable housing market in the country?) than ever before. Great low interest rates, and an $8,000 first time home buyer tax credit! Yahoo! Finance reports pending home sales rise 6.7 percent in April, biggest monthly jump in nearly 8 years.
1. Get prequalified for a mortgage. You’ll be able to make a firm commitment to buy and your offer will be more desirable to the seller. Pay attention to your realtor’s advice. They often know who is best.
2. Stay in close contact with your real estate agent to find out about the newest listings. Be ready to see a house as soon as it goes on the market-- if it’s a great home, it will go fast.
3. Scout out new listings yourself. Look at Web sites such as callcarpenter.com, browse your local newspaper’s real estate section, and drive through the neighborhood to spot For Sale signs. If you see a home you like, write down the address and the name of the listing agent. Always call your desired realtor to schedule a showing.
4. Be ready to make a decision. Spend a lot of time in advance deciding what you must have in a home so you won’t be unsure when you have the chance to make an offer.
5. Bid competitively. You may not want to start out offering the absolute highest price you can afford, but don’t go too low to get a deal. In a tight market, you’ll lose out. Listen to your realtor. Our goal is to get you the best home available at the best terms.
6. Keep contingencies to a minimum. Restrictions such as needing to sell your home before you move or wanting to delay the closing until a certain date can make your offer unappealing. Again, a good realtor will help set a “winning” strategy that will work best for you.
7. Don’t get caught in a buying frenzy. Just because there’s competition doesn’t mean you should just buy it. And even though you want to make your offer attractive, don’t neglect inspections that help ensure your house is sound.

This Friday, The Indiana Blood Center and WSVX will be teaming up to host a blood drive from 11:00 a.m.–4 p.m. in the public square parking lot.
