Major Hospital
New Orthopedic Center Open, Major Hospital Patient Lab to Move

Wonder what those twirling spires are on the north side of I-74 in Intelliplex? The long-anticipated full-service ReNovo Orthopaedic Center opened earlier in July and the high-tech center is now “fully operational,” according to Jack Horner, CEO of Major Health Partners. The ReNovo wind spires actually help generate electricity for the state-of-the-art orthopedic and radiology equipment within the 25,000 sq. ft. ReNovo Center, which is now home to the FORCE (Family Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Center) surgical practice, Major Sports Medicine and the SportWorks Rehabilitation Center.

The new ReNovo Center is one of several planned advances by Major Health Partners for patients and families in Shelby County. The patient center serving the Major Hospital Lab will be moving on Labor Day Weekend from the hospital across the street to the former Major Sports Medicine building on West Washington Street in Shelbyville. Outpatients and those with lab requests should go to the new location beginning Sept. 8 after Labor Day. Patients and families visiting the Major Hospital Lab Patient Center will now have convenient private parking for their lab appointments and a quick and easy visit.

Early World of Learning, Inc.
Early World Of Learning, Inc. set Foundation Training as a priority goal to continue for the next two years. The plan is to bring awareness to the parents regarding the need for pre-school teachers and child care providers to have training in the Foundations for young children, birth –5 years, and to tract the progress of Shelby County pre-schools and daycare homes in completing this important training. The Foundations were established by the Indiana State Department of Education and provide a link to the school academic standards.

The kick-off of the goal began last August with a Foundation workshop open to all counties. Among the participants from Shelby County were four Shelbyville and one Waldron home daycares: Tina Kuechler, (Little Friends Play Skool, 317-604-5301); Katy Raisor (Katy’s Kountry Kids, Inc., 317-729-5010); Cathy Schultz (Cathy’s Country Care, Inc., 317-729-5045); Bobbi J. Smothers (B & J Child Care, 317-398-6187); and Ginger J. Taylor (A Place for Me Child Care, 765-525-4224). These individuals were invited to vote on trainings that have now become part of this year’s Early Childhood Education Conference.

Early World has partnered with Huffer Memorial Children’s Center to bring 6-1/2 training hours at a low cost of $5.00 per participant. The conference is being hosted by Shelbyville Central Schools on Saturday, August 8, 2009, beginning at 8:00 am at the Blue River Career Center. Introduction to Foundations is one of the key workshops being offered by Huffer. For those who have completed the introductory training, a “Foundations – Exploring Science and Math” training is being offered. This training is being presented by two Ivy Tech Community College Associate Professors, Diane Smith and Connie Gassner.

Also, all eleven different workshops available at the conference have been approved by the State of Indiana to count as Foster Parent in-service training hours.

Registration forms are available at TraderBaker’s Flea Market, booth #31. Registrations need to be mailed to Early World Of Learning, Inc., 7417 S 400 E, Waldron, IN 46182, by July 20 to secure the $5.00 rate. If any questions, call 765-525-4224 or e-mail ewol@iquest.net

Blue River Telecommunications
Blue River Telecommunications to expand and rename Blue River Technology

Blue River Telecommunications is pleased to announce an expansion of their current products and services to include a complete line of data network products and services. To better identify ourselves with the public and customers, we are renaming our business Blue River Technology. Blue River Technology inherits a long tradition of superior quality customer service and the best products on the market, begun in 1986. Growing out of a company providing telecom products, loud speaker paging, fiber optics, computer cabling, security cameras and VOIP products, the addition of data network services will only enhance and solidify our service to the businesses of Central and Southern Indiana and surrounding states. Owned and operated from our headquarters in Greensburg, Indiana, President and CEO Randall Frye had this to say about Blue River Technology. "The mission of Blue River Technology is 'to strive to glorify God with honesty and integrity', and to provide our customers with quality products at a competitive price, with the BEST possible service." Cork Liquors
In the two years since Cork Liquors has been in Shelbyville, we have remodeled two stores and built two new stores. The two new stores are located on the north and south sides of town on Harrison Street. We are proud these properties have greatly improved the entrance to Shelbyville from the north and the south.
